ABSTRACT

Through the last decade, and particularly after the Covid period (2020 - 2022), crowd counting and localization have attracted much attention of AI researchers due to its potential applicability in crowd monitoring and control, public safety, space design, interactive content delivery etc. Once delivery objectives for a system are envisaged and the premises are fixed, we can always construct manifold technology architecture that delivers the set goals. However, in the Indian context a solution of choice needs to be optimized on frugality and ease of adaptability. In this paper we report an economic and replicable application of crowd counting and interactive content delivery in museums through unbiased knowledge systems embedded in robotic museum assistants. We intend to demonstrate a robotic system that can deliver any gallery content to groups of visitors keeping special focus on the exhibits that are popular choices. Crowd counting is used here to enable the content presentation to a group of choice in an interactive way. There are some market-ready solutions available for interactive gallery demonstration by moveable robots but they require not only huge capital investment but are also of limited use within controlled environments. Our proposed design is to multiplex an existing infrastructure of surveillance system as a smart crowd counting and gallery demonstration system along with crowd management with minimum additional hardware infusion. © 2023 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

During the COVID-19 pandemic the healthcare facilities all over world collapsed due to shortage of essential biomedical devices. ECG devices are one of those crucial instruments required for tracing electrical activities of heart. Due to the high cost of gold standard ECG devices used in the medical industries, the availability of on-demand ECG devices was not accessible to everyone. Thus, the need of portable, low cost, on-demand ECG device was needful at the earliest. In this paper we propose a novel, versatile, 3-lead, IoT enabled, LM324/LM741 operational amplifiers in instrumentation amplifier configuration Electrocardiogram machine that is aimed towards providing accurate information about the electrical activity of our heart in real time. In this attempt, we have come up with an analogue circuit design consisting of multiple operational amplifier IC based fundamental circuit blocks. The prototype is designed in such a way that the output of ECG can be visualised worldwide using IoT. © 2023 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected healthcare in several ways. Some patients were unable to make it to appointments due to curfews, transportation restrictions, and stay-at-home directives, while less urgent procedures were postponed or cancelled. Others steered clear of hospitals out of fear of contracting an infection. With the use of a conversational artificial intelligence-based program, the Talking Health Care Bot (THCB) could be useful during the pandemic by allowing patients to receive supportive care without physically visiting a hospital. Therefore, the THCB will drastically and quickly change in-person care to patient consultation through the internet. To give patients free primary healthcare and to narrow the supply-demand gap for human healthcare professionals, this work created a conversational bot based on artificial intelligence and machine learning. The study proposes a revolutionary computer program that serves as a patient's personal virtual doctor. The program was carefully created and thoroughly trained to communicate with patients as if they were real people. Based on a serverless architecture, this application predicts the disease based on the symptoms of the patients. A Talking Healthcare chatbot confronts several challenges, but the user's accent is by far the most challenging. This study has then evaluated the proposed model by using one hundred different voices and symptoms, achieving an accuracy rate of 77%. © 2023 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

Dengue fever is a flu-like ailment propagated by female mosquitos of the Aedes aegypti species. It is also known as dandaka jwara in Ayurveda. It is most common in the world's subtropical and tropical climate zones. Vomiting, severe headache, nausea, rashes, joint pain, pain behind the eyes, muscle pain, and swollen glands are all common dengue symptoms. If not handled promptly, these symptoms can lead to more severe issues such as exhaustion, blood in the vomit, continuous vomiting, bleeding gums, restlessness, severe abdominal pain, and rapid bleeding. Because there is no specific medication for dengue fever, the disease is treated by eliminating and managing the symptoms. Fortunately, there are a variety of ayurvedic remedies (like Carica papaya L., Cissampelos pareira L., etc.) that can help to tackle the same by strengthening the immune system and controlling hyperthermia. This review article provides a comprehensive overview of dengue virus infections, clinical symptoms, diagnosis, mitigation, and treatments, focusing on ayurvedic and herbal remedies.Copyright © 2022 The Author(s)

ABSTRACT

Background: Clinical features, diagnosis, medical treatment, epidemiological characteristics, and the therapy of 26 confirmed cases were analyzed to provide a scientific basis for formulating epidemic prevention with control strategies and measures. Methods: An epidemiological survey, clinical features, treatment guidelines were conducted for 26 patients, who were diagnosed with Corona Virus Disease-19 (COVID-19) and have been treated in The General Hospital since Jan. 2020 according to China national guideline for COVID-19. Results: The ratio of males to females were 3.25∶1.22, (84.62%) were more than 18 years old. There were 20 (76.92%) cases suffering from fever, 14 (53.85%) cases with weakness, and 8 (30.77%) with dry cough. Progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) therapy could help COVID-19 patients overcome anxiety and sleep problems, which may give a boost in their mental strength to fight against this COVID-19 during their stay in the isolation ward. In this study, both the clinical results and quality of evidence showed that Ribavirin, Lopinavir/Ritonavir, Moxifloxacin and Arbidol Hydrochloride combination with supportive drugs are probably major effective treatments. In the present pandemic situation, frontline physicians;who treat patients in a medical setting and evaluate prophylaxis for COVID-19 high-risk environments formed by large quarantined and isolated populations, are facing a lot of challenges. Conclusion: Most cases were males. The aged people group were at higher risk of the disease. Half of the cases were caused by living together and close contact with a patient. Different combination drugs use for COVID-19 is clinically successfully effective in published literature, including this study. © 2020 The author (s).

ABSTRACT

The COVID-19 pandemic has engulfed the world in the blink of an eye and created a state of panic. Vaccine is one of the suggested ways to counter the menace. Smallpox was an ideal vaccine candidate yet, it took about 182 years to eradicate. Vaccines are associated with incidents of mishap like the 'Cutter incident'. COVID-19 vaccine has a political, commercial angle to it, with at least 62 vaccine candidates in the pipeline. Potential obstacles in development of vaccines are mutations in strains of SARS-CoV-2, lack of details of biological properties of the virus and incomplete information of pathogenicity, lack of suitable animal models. The potential side effects of the vaccine are eosinophilic infiltration, increased infectivity following challenge infections, antibody-dependent enhancement of infections. The general public has to stop anticipating that a vaccine is nearby and believe that for now, vaccine is face mask, hand wash, and social distancing and hope that either the virus goes weak or an effective vaccine arrives rather early than late. © 2022 Medical Journal of Dr. D.Y. ABSTRACT

Background: COVID has caused a worldwide pandemic and brought the countries to a halt. It is not only a disease of the respiratory system but the entire body. RT-PCR remains the main stay of diagnosis for COVID, limited study has been done in terms of usability of cycle threshold (CT) values for understanding the severity of the disease. This study was done to find association between CT values, clinical features and biomarkers Material(s) and Method(s): this is an observational study done between November 2022 to October 2022. A total of 200 cases were studied. RT-PCR was performed using Quant studio 12K flex system. Biomarker estimation was done on Architect c8000 Results: A total of 200 cases studied. 43.28% cases had low CT value in E gene and 40.79% cases in RdRp gene. The predominant symptom noted in our study is breathlessness. No statistical correlation was made between CT values and clinical symptoms and also no statistical correlation was made between biomarkers. Conclusion(s): COVID RT-PCR is the gold standard diagnostic method but the viral load cannot be used as a prognostic marker because the sample collection technique is not standardised across the board and also the quantity of sample obtained during nasopharyngeal swabbing varies. Further studies and establishment of standardised protocols can bring about a usability for the CT values. Copyright © 2022 Ubiquity Press. All rights reserved.

ABSTRACT

This paper manages the Origin of Covid (SARS-CoV-2-novel Covid) and the Vaccination view. Within excess of 10 million tainted cases and more than 3 million setbacks at the hour of composing this piece, the original Covid actuated wellbeing disease has arisen as the most serious among every one of the worldwide pandemics. The novel (COVID-19 or 2019-nCoV) was found in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. Bats were liable for the underlying spread, which was subsequently spread to people by the raccoon canine and palm civet. The normal COVID-19 manifestations are fever, dry hack, and sleepiness. The significant manifestations are trouble breathing, chest torment, and loss of speech. The indications and indications of SARS-CoV-2 prompting COVID-19 completely match those of the occasional or, dust sensitivities and flu as migraine, touchiness of the throat, dry hack, weariness, fever, and at times loss of sensation (Tu et al., year2020). An individual tainted with the diseases of sensitivity to pollen or, flu sensitivity is additionally liable to show temperature that can be recorded with thermo-scanners prompting the individual to turn into a suspect of the sickness. Along these lines, before immunizing, a fast and exact analytic meter or, the pack is the need of great importance to identify the SARS-CoV-2 inferable from the way that the testing in view of PCR is tedious and exorbitant (Sirkeci and Yucesahin, year2020). ABSTRACT

With the rise of Covid-19, the open-source community has devoted a huge amount of time into developing technical solutions to stop the spread of the virus. Useful solutions like symptom trackers and extensive analysis on existing datasets are a small drop in the massive number of solutions developed by people. But with the massive number of projects or solutions, it is time consuming for a motivated person to find an appropriate solution to put his time into. Therefore, seeing the inspiring amount of work done by the open source community, we are suggesting an efficient algorithm to recommend projects that are Coronavirus related to which the user can get recommendations for projects according to their preference such as language. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

Medicinal plants or medicinal herbs possess therapeutic properties or exert beneficial pharmacological effects on human. From time immemorial, people have been using various medicinal plants without even knowing their phytochemistry and pharmacological properties as a medicine for treating numerous ailments. As technology developed and upgraded, people used to screen out various phytoconstituents as well as evaluate their basic pharmacological properties. Tinospora cordifolia is a medicinal herb which is commonly known as Giloy belong to family menispermaceae. It can also be found in places like Africa, China, South-East Asia, Indo-Malaya region and Australia. Traditionally, people use this herb as prominent food materials due to their higher nutraceutical value and various healing properties. For phytochemical investigation, extraction of whole plant is preferable whereas most of the phytochemical are found to be present in leaves. Various potent phytochemicals are found in this herb such as tinosponone, tinocordiside, tinosporaside, cordifoliside, β-sitosterol, mekisterone A, etc. which are belong to class of alkaloids, sesquiterpenoids, glycosides, steroids, volatile oil, etc. Owing to the presence of these potent compounds, it exhibits wide range of large number of pharmacological activities such as antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, antioxidant, antidiabetic, anticancer activities, etc. In past two years, SARS-CoV-2 infections has taken life of millions of people across the globe and there were no any vaccine or proper antiviral medicine available to defend this deadly pandemic, hence people were mostly relying on herbal plant therapy. Giloy is one such magical herb which exhibit healing properties in SARS-CoV-2 infected patients. Moreover, in-silico studies have been carried out to determine the binding affinity as well as inhibiting potential of various phytoconstituents of giloy. In this review work, we compiled all the updated information about T. cordifolia as well as emphasizing more on SARS-CoV-2 inhibiting potential. © 2022 Chemical Publishing Co.. All rights reserved.

ABSTRACT

A novel species of coronavirus has engulfed the entire world. Its severity and rate at which it transmits have left no country untouched. Massive replication has brought mutation in the genomic sequence of the virus. Due to this, many newer variants of SARS-COV-2 have come into play. Many therapies are available for covid 19, such as Remdesivir, Baricitinib, Molnupiravir, etc., but none are effective at preventing SARS-CoV-2 infection. Even most of the efficacious vaccines against the earlier variants are now inefficacious against, the newer variants. So, the people already vaccinated with the primary course of vaccination are at risk of reinfection and symptomatic COVID 19 illness. Furthermore, the initial immune response produced by these vaccines may have diminished with time, paving the pathway for discussion on the absolute need for time off and booster doses for vaccinated people. Some developed countries like the U.K and Israel favor the booster dose strategy, while some defy it, claiming it is necessary to vaccinate unvaccinated people first rather than giving vaccines multiple times. In this article, we have explained the necessity of booster doses in tackling newer variants. However, for the time being, devising a variant-specific vaccine seems promising to hiatus this transmission.

ABSTRACT

We report a rare case of mixed fungal orbito-pansinusitis caused by Rhizopus oryzae and Exophiala jeanselmei in post-COVID-19 individuals. A 65-year-old patient was COVID-19-positive and treated as per the protocols. Following recovery after 3 weeks presents to the otorhinolaryngology outpatient department with complaints of nasal obstruction, stuffiness, pain over the maxilla, occasional fever spikes, and swelling over eyelids. He was diagnosed with a case of orbito-pansinusitis mucormycosis based on magnetic resonance imaging, nasal endoscopy, and microbiological findings. Intravenous (IV) fluconazole and amphotericin B were the conservative management initially followed by surgical debridement later. There was minimal residual deformity after patient recovery. Generally, secondary to immunosuppression or debilitating diseases leads to mucormycosis. The mode of entry for molds and spores of zygomycetes are through the respiratory tract through the nose and then reaches the sinuses, orbit, and intracranial structures. Hence, a good prognosis and to reduce morbidity by zygomycosis can be achieved by early clinical diagnosis, direct smears, and proper interventions. The diagnosis of fungal infections at the earliest is very important because the therapeutic management of fungal infection is quite challenging, especially in the case of R. oryzae and E. jeanselmei with immunocompromised state. The prophylactic drugs, steroids, and immunosuppressants for the treatment of COVID-19 should not be misused and must be used as per protocol and guidelines judiciously. © 2022 Wolters Kluwer Medknow Publications. ABSTRACT

The Covid-19 pandemic coupled with lockdown has nearly brought the world to a standstill. It has left both short and long-term impacts on the mental health of the children. The goal of this paper is to predict the changes in various mental health parameters such as health, emotion, behavior, maturity, and education. Our target research group is the children of West Bengal, India belonging to the age group of 0–18. An exclusive set of a questionnaire prepared by a team of psychologists was delivered to parents of students in a few schools. The data received from the survey was then processed and cleaned. Using standard machine learning models like k-NN(k = 5), MLP and SVM we analyzed the survey data and performed a comparative prediction of the probabilistic changes of the aforementioned mental health attributes. SVM reported an accuracy of 82.75%, 72.41%, 65.51%, 58.62% and 72.41% in prediction of the mentioned attributes. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
